RI-Australia CPO plant

JAKARTA (JP): PT Comismar Wana Atmaja will build a crude palm oil mill in Samarinda, East Kalimantan next year to support its 60,000 hectares of oil palm estates under development in Bulungan district.

The company's director, Andas F. Tanri, said in Samarinda that the whole project, which was estimated to require a total investment of US$90 million, was being built in a joint venture with Australian and Singapore investors.

The weakening of Indonesia-Australia relations as a result of the East Timor crisis did not affect the project's implementation, Andas was quoted by Antara as saying. (01)
