RI art troupes to join Olympics

NUSA DUA, Bali: Performing art troupes from Bali, Yogyakarta
and Jakarta have been chosen to join the Cultural Olympics in
Greece from Aug. 13 to Aug. 29, Taufik Razen of the national
committee for the Cultural Olympics has said.

The three are Bali's Bajra Sandhi, led by Ida Wayan Granoka;
the art troupe from Yogyakarta, led by Heri Dono; and the Stage
Bus, a multicultural art troupe from Jakarta, said Taufik.

They will perform in the Greek cities of Athens and Olympia he
said on Wednesday. The Balinese group will perform a traditional
gamelan piece and classic dances, while the Yogyakarta group,
under Heri Dono, will collaborate with Greek artists in putting
together a performance based on his 2001 work, Troya Horse. --
