RI archers off to Asian C'ships

JAKARTA (JP): The national archery team headed to Myanmar
yesterday for the Asian Championships in Yangon. The annual event
is being held from Aug. 28 to Aug. 31.

Wahyu Hidayat, Yulianto, Hendra Setiawan and Latief Pramono
are the men's lineup. Veteran Nurfitriyana Lantang will lead the
women's quartet of Lucia Elizabeth, Suhartini and Dwi Purwanti.

South Korean coach Lee Jae-hyun and local coach Daniel
Lumalesil are accompanying the archers.

National Sports Council deputy chairman Arie Sudewo told the
team members yesterday they were expected to excel even though
Indonesia will not compete in the event in the 13th Asian Games
in Bangkok in December. (yan)
