RI and Australia to work together on dumping
The Jakarta Post, Jakarta
Indonesia and Australia have agreed to strengthen anti-dumping cooperation, head of the Indonesian Committee on Anti-Dumping (KADI), Rizal Arwin, said in Canberra on Friday.
"Australia has agreed to help train Indonesian anti-dumping investigators and share information with them," Arwin said as quoted by Antara.
KADI members are in Canberra for a three-day visit to study ways of improving cooperation between the two countries.
They have held a series of talks with Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) as well as customs officials.
Arwin said both countries had also agreed to improve their cooperation on the exchange of information on subsidy and product protection.
He noted that Indonesia had been facing difficulties in finding people qualified to investigate alleged dumping practices.
DFAT products allegedly exported below market prices listed on its website.
The list includes Indonesian cement, paper, coffee and computer companies.
