RI allocates Rp5.9 trillion for MagangHub and vocational training
“The national internship programme received additional funding of Rp4.2 trillion (US$225.9 million), and the vocational training received additional funding of Rp1.7 trillion (US$91 million),” the Minister of Manpower Yassierli said on Tuesday (July 29).
The government is targeting 300,000 participants in vocational training, with programmes ranging from various conventional skills, such as welding, mechanic skills, air conditioning repair, and electronics.
Yassierli added the Ministry of Manpower has developed technology-based training, such as smart operations, smart farming, and smart building.

The training duration is tailored to the required competencies, ranging from one to two months, while welding training can last up to six months.
Yassierli conveyed that graduates of the Ministry of Manpower’s welding training programmes will have strong employment prospects, with many overseas companies seeking skilled welding operators and offering salaries of tens of millions of rupiah per month.
The vocational training programme is carried out through 42 training centers under the Ministry, with the involvement of regional government training centers to expand service coverage and provide opportunities for competency improvement to communities in various regions.
“This demonstrates our commitment to develop a highly skilled workforce. We are allocating 300,000 vocational training slots,” Yassierli noted.

Meanwhile, for the National Internship Program Batch II/2026, the Ministry has allocated a quota of 150,000. The programme is divided into three phases, each of them provide a quota of 50,000 participants.
The internship will begin on August 10 and the kick-off for Phase 1 of the 2026 National Internship Programme is scheduled on August 11.
During the six-month programme, participants will receive an allowance based on the Regency/City Minimum Wage for the partner organisation.
In addition, they are eligible for BPJS Employment coverage, which includes the Work Accident Insurance (JKK) and Death Insurance (JKM) programmes.
