Prospective General Chairman of BPP HIPMI, Reynaldo Bryan, has detailed a strategy to ensure capital access reaches entrepreneurs across all regions. He presented his ideas during the third debate for candidates, responding to questions from the number two candidate.

According to Reynaldo, the main problem still facing many regional entrepreneurs today is limited access to business financing. Therefore, he has prepared a programme focused on mapping member needs and regional economic potential as a basis for formulating policy and concrete organisational steps going forward.

‘I think the problem in the regions is indeed access to capital. When we are elected later, we must have strong data regarding member needs and business potential in each area so that the financing solutions provided are truly on target,’ Reynaldo said on Thursday (4/6).

He explained that the strategy would be implemented through two approaches, namely short-term and long-term solutions, so that the financing needs of business actors can be met sustainably.

In the short term, Reynaldo is committed to optimising the strength of the HIPMI network by garnering support from within the organisation and from HIPMI seniors who have successfully built businesses in various sectors.

‘We will develop financing schemes involving HIPMI’s internal strength. Successful HIPMI seniors must become part of the solution to help fellow entrepreneurs in the regions gain faster and more targeted access to capital,’ he said.

Meanwhile, in the long term, Reynaldo emphasised that HIPMI must take a more strategic role in encouraging the creation of government policies that favour business actors, particularly MSMEs and young entrepreneurs in the regions. According to him, there are still many aspiring entrepreneurs who have the ability and willingness to do business but are constrained by financing requirements that are difficult to meet.

‘Going forward, HIPMI must be able to influence government policy so that credit access becomes more inclusive. I imagine a time when people who have the capability and a good track record, even just with a diploma, can obtain access to People’s Business Credit (KUR) and other productive financing to start or develop their businesses,’ Reynaldo asserted.

He added that the success of national economic development cannot be separated from the growth of new economic centres in the regions. Therefore, equitable access to capital must be a priority agenda for the organisation.
