Revoke liquor trading decree!
Revoke liquor trading decree!
From Bisnis Indonesia
It is widely reported in the mass media that the government has issued a policy on the trading arrangements for liquor. In my opinion, this policy will lead to monopolistic practices.
Such practices are usually fraught with corruption, collusion and nepotism. Therefore, the minister of industry and trade should immediately revoke the import trading arrangement adopted by PT Dharma Niaga and PT Cipta Niaga by virtue of the Decree of the Minister of Industry and Trade No. 230/MPP/Kep/7/97. Article 2 should be immediately revoked as the two companies are not legal importers.
The two companies are simply "puppets" as in practice the import of liquor is actually carried out by the distributors that the two companies appoint.
These two companies only: 1. give import letters; 2. place stickers on the bottles; 3. allow corruption, collusion and nepotism to grow.
Once again, the minister of industry and trade should immediately revoke Decree No. 230/MPP/Kep/7/97 and then allow freedom to other companies to import liquor as arranged in the Law on Trade Affairs and the Law on Customs Affairs.
