Revitalisation of Lebak Bulus Terminal Planned for 2027
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The managers of Lebak Bulus Terminal plan to revitalise the terminal in 2027 to improve service quality and transport integration. “This 2027 revitalisation has already been budgeted,” said Lebak Bulus Terminal Head Joni Budhi when met at the terminal in South Jakarta on Wednesday. He stated that the plan has been included in the budget, although the detailed amount is still awaiting confirmation. The cost of revitalising Lebak Bulus Terminal in 2027 is estimated at around Rp6 billion. “As an intercity terminal, we are already good, close to the MRT and Transjakarta, and there will also be plans for a mixed-use building concept,” Joni said. According to him, the terminal’s development will be carried out in stages, including independent innovations while awaiting the main revitalisation. “Hopefully by 2027 it will start to improve; we will also carry out independent innovations to make it decent while waiting for the actual revitalisation,” Joni remarked. Meanwhile, the managers of Lebak Bulus Terminal predict that the peak Eid homecoming traffic at the terminal will occur on Tuesday-Wednesday or 17-18 March, considering the increase in departing passengers. This number represents the accumulation of passengers departing over the last four days leading up to Eid al-Fitr. On 13 March or H-8 before Eid, there were 25 buses arriving and departing, with 246 passengers. Then on 14 March (H-7), the number of operating buses increased to 29 units with 251 departing passengers. Subsequently, on 15 March (H-6), 21 buses arrived and departed with 166 passengers. Meanwhile, on 16 March (H-5), there were 29 buses arriving and departing with 240 passengers. The terminal authorities stated that the number of passengers is expected to continue increasing approaching the peak Eid homecoming traffic. The terminal is also continuously monitoring and ensuring the smooth flow of passenger departures during the homecoming period.
