Revitalisation of Bogor's Pajajaran Museum to Cost Rp9 Billion
West Java Provincial Government has allocated Rp9 billion for the revitalisation programme of Pajajaran Museum in Bogor. The move is part of efforts to organise art and cultural facilities in the region.
West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi said the revitalisation follows the Milangkala Tatar Sunda Cultural Parade held in Bogor, which involved cultural elements from various regions.
“As a follow-up, road, pavement, lighting, and garden improvements will be made, allowing the mayor to focus on neighbourhood arrangements. It will be called Palataran Binokasih,” he said in a written statement from Bandung on Sunday (31 May), reported by Antara.
Dedi added that further improvements will cover the area connecting Pajajaran Museum to Lawang Suryakencana, following the cultural parade route.
Infrastructure upgrades include roads, pavements, lighting, and gardens to create a more organised and comfortable cultural environment for the public.
In addition to the museum’s revitalisation, the West Java Provincial Government will also improve surrounding infrastructure.
The initiative aims to strengthen the museum’s role as a historical education space and a centre for Sundanese cultural preservation in Bogor.
Bogor Mayor Dedie A Rachim praised the parade as an effort to revive Sundanese cultural heritage.
“The governor brought the Binokasih Crown from Sumedang to Bogor today,” he said.
The cultural parade featured the Sanghyang Pake Binokasih Crown and involved traditional arts participants from 27 regencies and cities across West Java, including representatives from Jakarta, Banten, and Central Java.
