Reviewing Train Accident, Dony: Handling Victims is the Top Priority
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Head of the BUMN Supervisory Board, Dony Oskaria, directly inspected the site of the train accident disaster in the East Bekasi area in the early hours of Tuesday (28/4/2026). His presence at the scene at 00.00 WIB, along with the Deputy Speaker of the DPR and the President’s envoy, was to personally convey condolences and concern while monitoring the evacuation process.
“On behalf of myself, the government, BUMN Supervisory Board, and Danantara, we extend our deepest condolences and sincerest apologies for the tragedy that has occurred,” Dony stated.
Dony emphasised that the President’s instructions are very clear: public safety is the highest law. Currently, all energy is being directed to ensure that medical services for the victims proceed quickly and accurately.
“Our main focus right now is not just restoring the operational line, but ensuring that every affected individual receives the fastest and best handling,” he stressed.
During the inspection, Dony, together with Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, also engaged in discussions with on-site personnel to ensure the evacuation process. Dony expressed apologies and concern.
“Once again, we apologise for the inconvenience and this tragedy. Safety and public trust are absolute priorities that cannot be compromised,” Dony concluded before continuing coordination with the KAI technical team on site.
