During his visit, Gus Ipul ensured that the construction is proceeding smoothly according to target and that the school will be usable for student learning in the new academic year. “The target is completion by the end of June, and from the second week, it can be used for school environment orientation,” said Gus Ipul in a written statement on Sunday (10/5/2026). Based on information gathered, the construction of the permanent People’s School in Sampang as of today (10/5) has reached more than 54 percent, and progress will continue to increase. For the Madura region, Gus Ipul mentioned there are three pilot People’s School sites in Bangkalan, Pamekasan, and Sumenep Regencies. Meanwhile, the permanent People’s School is being built only in Sampang Regency. “Meanwhile, next year the three other regencies can have permanent buildings built; that is our hope,” he added. Gus Ipul hopes the permanent People’s School building in Sampang can be completed soon and used for new students entering in the 2026 academic year. This includes the other three regencies in Madura that have pilot People’s Schools. “We are simulating the selection for People’s School students in the four regencies. Perhaps those already in place (pilots) will continue. Meanwhile, for the 2026 Academic Year, the four regencies can be here (Sampang),” he explained. Furthermore, Gus Ipul stated that the permanent People’s School in Sampang can accommodate 1,000 students, consisting of primary, junior high, and senior high school levels. Gus Ipul emphasised that the People’s School is intended for the most impoverished families according to the National Socio-Economic Data (DTSEN). The People’s School also does not open registrations, but rather conducts outreach. “We want in this outreach process there to be no recommendations, no collusion, no payments, no what you might call KKN. That is not permitted under the provisions and the President’s directives,” he stressed.
