The impact saw water overflow inundating rice fields in Pasirsari, Pekalongan City, and Tegaldowo, Pekalongan Regency, as well as residential areas in Pasirkratonkramat Sub-district. Emergency embankment handling has been carried out by the Pekalongan City and Regency BPBD, assisted by TNI, Polri, and Central Java Provincial BPBD. The measures include installing wooden stakes and sandbags, as well as pumping water entering residential areas using water pipes. Luthfi emphasised that the disaster affects both Pekalongan City and Regency, thus requiring collaboration from various parties, including the regency and city governments, Central Java Province, and the central government. In addition to embankment handling, the government will carry out normalisation of the Bremi River, but the work will be done gradually. In 2025, the central government and Central Java Provincial Government have budgeted for the Bremi River normalisation to ensure quick handling. Besides that work, several collaborative projects between Pekalongan Regency Government and Pekalongan City Government will be undertaken, namely the repair of the Randujajar road section. “This handling is a form of the state’s presence in resolving community problems, especially related to flooding in Pekalongan,” Luthfi stated on Thursday (26/3/2026). On that occasion, Luthfi also handed over aid from the Central Java Provincial Government totalling Rp134,905,150, divided into logistics for food and non-food items, rice, medicines, and school supplies. Meanwhile, the Head of Pasirkratonkramat Sub-district, Dwi Indah Widiastuti, said that emergency handling has been carried out with assistance from TNI and Polri. Community gotong royong will also be conducted to ensure handling is completed quickly. They also received aid from the Central Java Provincial Government, which will soon be distributed to affected residents. For information, during the inspection, Luthfi was accompanied by the Mayor of Pekalongan, Achmad Afzan Arslan Djunaid; Deputy Mayor of Pekalongan, Balgis Diab; and Acting Regent of Pekalongan, Sukirman.
