Review in Madinah: Inspector General of Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Appreciates Services for Indonesian Hajj Pilgrims

Inspector Regional II of the Inspectorate General (Itjen) of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of the Republic of Indonesia, Ade Muhtar, has arrived in Madinah and conducted a direct review of the accommodations and meal services for Indonesian hajj pilgrims. He listened to reports from the Head of Sector 1 of the Madinah Working Area, Ramlan Sudarto. Among other things, this included the process of shifting pilgrims to Makkah, which was described as good and smooth. Ade Muhtar stated that overall, the services for hajj pilgrims are running well, although his side continues to seek points of perfection. “Alhamdulillah, we have found that the implementation that has been reported so far is good; indeed, we have all witnessed that it has been running well,” said Ade Muhtar during his visit to Sector 1 Madinah, Friday (8/5/2026) afternoon local time. He acknowledged that the main challenge at present is the pushing or shifting of pilgrims from Madinah to Makkah, which is dense. Today alone, Sector 1 is pushing 13 kloter to Makkah simultaneously, thus requiring additional PPIH officers and umal (porters) who are adequate. However, he appreciated the readiness of the PPIH officers who have undergone intensive training for almost one month beforehand in the homeland.
