Revenue Grows 10% in 2025, Pupuk Indonesia Accelerates Revitalisation and Downstreaming
PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) continues to strengthen its business foundation through increased efficiency, governance transformation, and the acceleration of revitalisation and downstreaming programmes. This approach serves as the company’s primary strategy to maintain sustainable growth while enhancing the competitiveness of the national fertiliser industry.
In the 2025 fiscal year, Pupuk Indonesia recorded audited revenue of Rp90.4 trillion, representing a 10% growth compared to the previous year. This performance was supported by strengthened business governance and increased operational efficiency, providing greater scope for the company to undertake strategic investments.
These reforms were further bolstered by Presidential Regulation Number 113 of 2025, which changed the fertiliser subsidy scheme from ‘cost-plus’ to ‘market-to-market’. This change is considered to have improved the financing structure of the fertiliser industry while opening wider opportunities for companies to execute productive investments.
The Corporate Secretary of Pupuk Indonesia, Yehezkiel Adiperwira, stated that strengthening governance and efficiency is a vital foundation for the company to maintain performance and accelerate business expansion. “This foundation allows us to continue supporting national food security while accelerating investments that strengthen competitiveness and unlock new growth opportunities for the company,” Yehezkiel said in an official statement.
One completed project includes the revamping of the Ammonia Plant-2 owned by Pupuk Kalimantan Timur. The project successfully reduced gas consumption by more than 10%, thereby increasing the company’s operational efficiency.
Regarding downstreaming, Pupuk Indonesia is expanding its business portfolio through several strategic projects. The company is currently constructing a soda ash plant with a capacity of 300,000 tonnes per year in Bontang, East Kalimantan, and is developing a methanol plant project to support domestic industrial needs and strengthen national energy security.
In line with this business strengthening, Pupuk Indonesia has once again been included in the Fortune Southeast Asia 500 (FSEA500) 2026 list, which features the 500 largest companies in Southeast Asia based on 2025 fiscal year revenue. In this list, Pupuk Indonesia is ranked 68th. This achievement reflects the company’s success in maintaining business growth amidst its efforts to fulfil its strategic mandate to support national food security.
