Revelation of Alleged Child Grooming by Tangsel SMK Principal, Leaked via WhatsApp Channel

TANGERANG SELATAN, KOMPAS.com - The case of alleged child grooming involving the former head of SMK Letris 2 Pamulang in Tangerang Selatan, identified by the initials AMA, began from a WhatsApp channel circulating covertly among students. From there, stories about alleged inappropriate closeness between the principal and a female student began to surface publicly. The case, which initially circulated only among students, later went viral on social media. It prompted students and alumni to speak out, culminating in a police investigation and AMA’s permanent dismissal by the school’s foundation.

According to Firdaus, the communication between the two began when S’s parents asked the school to look after their child who was living in a boarding house with her sister. However, as time passed, S is said to have frequently shared personal details about her closeness to the former head of the school via a WhatsApp channel named ‘Em Anu’ that was followed by only a small group. The channel was made private by S with members believed to be among her friends. The situation changed when screenshots, photos, and videos of the pair’s closeness from that channel were spread through another WhatsApp channel named ‘spill’ on Wednesday (13 May 2026). The ‘spill’ channel was made public so many could access and then spread to TikTok, Instagram, Threads, and X, drawing public scrutiny. ‘The content actually originated from the WhatsApp channel of this student herself,’ Firdaus said. The school had previously reminded the class teachers and the principal to maintain professionalism.

The Tangsel Police’s Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Wira Graha Setiawan, said police were finding information about the alleged child grooming from various social media posts.
