Revelation: Cobro Murdered Joxzin Member in Bantul Over Being Called 'Holier-Than-Thou'

Police have revealed comments made by Joxzin member Kitin Yogatama Rustamaji, known as KYR (36), that upset the perpetrators, ultimately leading to a murder in Kaliurang, Argomulyo, Sedayu, Bantul.

Bantul Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Bayu Puji Hariyanto, explained that initially the two suspects—SS alias Cobro (29) and FS (22)—gathered at KYR’s residence along with their associates on the night of Tuesday, 24 March 2026. Eight people were present at the time.

“The eight people gathered and had conversations that were deemed hurtful to SS, namely ‘if you think you’re so pious, don’t come here,’” he said to reporters at Bantul Police Station on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.

Feeling insulted, Cobro then invited FS to leave at 04.00 WIB. It transpired that Cobro asked FS to collect a machete from his residence in Gamping, Sleman.

“Then at 05.00 WIB, SS returned to KYR’s house through the back door and found KYR sleeping with his child and wife,” he stated.

The other associates who had previously gathered with Cobro, FS, and the victim had already returned to their respective homes.

“Then SS hacked KYR three times: the first strike hit the left side of the face, the second struck the abdomen and also the fingers of KYR’s wife, and the third struck the right thigh of KYR, which resulted in KYR’s death,” he said.

Police previously reported that the motive for the murder of the Joxzin member in Kaliurang, Argomulyo, Sedayu, Bantul was that the suspect felt aggrieved.

“So he was hurt, the suspect was offended by the victim’s words,” said Bantul Police Public Relations Officer, First Inspector Rita Hidayanto, when contacted by detikJogja on Friday, 6 March 2026.

Additionally, Rita noted that suspect SS (29) and victim KYR (36) were previously acquainted.

“Even though they knew each other, they were friends, acquainted like that,” she said.
