The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has emphasised the importance of examining Uhud Tour boss Khalid Basalamah. Through this examination, the KPK aims to unravel the role of the Forum Silaturahmi Asosiasi Travel Haji dan Umrah (SATHU) in the additional Hajj quota case.

Khalid completed his examination as a witness in the 2023-2024 additional Hajj quota case at the Ministry of Religious Affairs on Thursday (23/4). Khalid is known as the General Chairman of the Asosiasi Mutiara Haji, which is a member of the SATHU Forum.

“In this examination, investigators also delved into matters related to the SATHU Forum,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters on Friday (24/4/2026).

The KPK has identified the involvement of parties from the SATHU Forum in meddling with the determination of the additional Hajj quota.

“If we look back at the construction of the case, parties from the SATHU Forum or these association groups are suspected of also taking initiatives related to the process of arranging the distribution of Hajj quotas,” Budi stated.

Additionally, investigators pressed Khalid on the management of the additional Hajj quota after the distribution of regular and special channels, as well as its distribution, which is said to not comply with prevailing regulations.

In yesterday’s examination, the KPK also gathered statements from Director of PT Chairul Umam Addauli, Fahrizal Dahlan; Director of PT Nadwa Mulia Utama, Zulhendri; and Director of PT Sriwijaya Mega Wisata, Salwaty. The three were examined at the BPKP North Sumatra. Meanwhile, Director of PT Kafilah Maghfirah Wisata, Firman M Nur, was examined at the KPK alongside Khalid.

“So, how the arrangement of distribution or its distribution was carried out. That is for the examination of witnesses from the association,” Budi said.

It is recorded that Khalid Basalamah was previously examined by the KPK in June and September 2025. Khalid denied involvement in the Hajj quota case.

In this case, the KPK has already named Yaqut as a suspect along with former Special Staff to the Minister of Religious Affairs Isfan Abidal Aziz (IAA) alias Gus Alex. Yaqut is charged with violating Article 2 paragraph (1) and or Article 3 of Law No. 31 of 1999 jo. Article 18 of Law No. 31 of 1999 on the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law No. 20 of 2001 on Amendments to Law No. 31 of 1999 on the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) first of the Criminal Code.

In the development of this case, the KPK named two new suspects from the private sector, namely Ismail Adham and Asrul Azis Taba as the General Chairman of the Kesatuan Tour Travel Haji Umrah Republik Indonesia (Kesthuri). Both are suspected of playing a role in arranging the distribution and filling of the additional Hajj quota, including providing kickbacks to Ministry of Religious Affairs parties.
