Revealed: TNI Personnel Who Threw Sulphuric Acid at Andrie Yunus Planned the Attack Since the Afternoon

Police have revealed that the sulphuric acid attack on KontraS deputy coordinator Andrie Yunus was allegedly prepared since the afternoon before the incident. This was uncovered from CCTV recordings showing the movements of the perpetrators several hours before the act took place on Thursday night (12/3/2026). “We conducted an investigation into the time before the incident. We traced back from the time before the event,” said the Director of General Criminal Investigation of Metro Jaya Police, Senior Commissioner Iman Imanuddin, during a press conference at Metro Jaya Police Headquarters on Wednesday (18/3/2026). In another recording around 5:18 p.m. WIB, police also managed to capture a video clip showing the face of one of the suspected perpetrators. “At 5:18 p.m., we can capture a video clip showing the face of one of the executors,” Iman stated. From various CCTV recordings at multiple points, police also found connections in the movements between the perpetrators before the incident. Meanwhile, the Commander of the Military Police Centre (Danpuspom) of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) Headquarters, Major General Yusri Nuryanto, stated that the four suspects in the acid attack on KontraS activist Andrie Yunus are from the TNI’s Strategic Intelligence Agency (Bais). “These four alleged perpetrators are from the TNI Bais Denma,” Yusri said during a press conference at TNI Headquarters in Jakarta on Wednesday. They are Captain NDP, Lieutenant SL, Lieutenant BHW, and Sergeant ES. “Their matrix is from the Navy and Air Force,” he explained. Previously, Andrie Yunus was attacked with sulphuric acid by unknown individuals on Thursday night around 11:37 p.m. WIB on Jalan Salemba I-Talang, Senen, Central Jakarta. KontraS Working Body Coordinator Dimas Bagus Arya said that at the time, Andrie was riding a motorbike when two perpetrators approached from the opposite direction. As a result of the incident, Andrie suffered burns on his right and left hands, face, chest, and eyes.
