Revealed: The Fate of SPPG Affiliates and Trillion-Rupiah Electric Motorcycles in the MBG Corruption Case

The investigation into alleged corruption in the governance of the Free Nutritious Meal Programme (MBG) for the 2025-2026 fiscal year has not only uncovered suspected manipulation in the appointment of Nutritional Service Fulfilment Units (SPPG) but has also revealed a number of procurement items of fantastic value deemed problematic. Amid the ongoing investigation, questions have arisen regarding the fate of SPPG units allegedly affiliated with the suspects, as well as thousands of procured goods suspected of being marked up. Will all these assets be seized by investigators?

The Director of Investigations at the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at the Attorney General’s Office, Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, stated that seizure is not automatically carried out on all objects that are part of the investigation.

‘Not necessarily. Not necessarily (seized). Seizure concerns evidence that we will use to prove a criminal act occurred,’ he said, as quoted on Friday, 5 June 2026.

According to him, in the case of alleged SPPG affiliations, the investigators’ current focus is not on stopping the operations of MBG kitchens that are still serving the community. Investigators are focusing their efforts on proving the case through documents and the partner appointment process, which is suspected to have been non-compliant with regulations.

‘So evidence of a criminal act can be documents, or other things. So it is not necessarily the SPPG itself. As long as the SPPG is indeed, what is the term, serving the community, we will not stop its activities,’ he said.

Syarief explained that investigators are delving into the reasons why a number of foundations, which allegedly did not meet the requirements, were still able to pass as partners of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) and manage SPPG units.

‘So that is one of our materials, our investigation materials. So there are foundations that were actually not fit to receive or become BGN partners, like that. But then why could they become partners? This means each of these suspects had a role,’ he stated.

Beyond the SPPG issue, investigators are also probing a number of procurements of goods and services suspected of price inflation. These include the procurement of electric motorcycles, tablets, televisions, and shoes, with a total value reaching trillions of rupiah. Despite being part of the case under investigation, the Attorney General’s Office has confirmed that these goods will also not be seized if they have already been distributed and are in use in the regions.
