Revealed! Salim and Bakrie Collaboration in EV, Two Stocks Soar
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Salim Group and Bakrie Group are growing closer. The latest development is their synergy in the development of electric vehicles (EV). This is evident from the share participation of a Bakrie subsidiary in an Indomobil business entity.
PT VKTR Teknologi Mobilitas Tbk (VKTR), a subsidiary of PT Bakrie & Brothers Tbk (BNBR), has recorded a share participation in PT Indomobil Ventura Transportasi (IVT). This investment was made in February 2025 with a value of Rp3 billion.
“For the purchase of 3,000 shares or equivalent to 30% ownership in IVT,” as disclosed in the Notes to the Financial Statements (CaLK) of BNBR for the 2025 fiscal year, on Thursday (16/4/2026).
The funds were used to purchase 3,000 shares or equivalent to 30% ownership in IVT. With this action, VKTR officially enters as one of the strategic shareholders in the company.
Based on the 2025 financial report of PT Indomobil Sukses Internasional Tbk (IMAS), PT Indomobil Ventura Transportasi is an indirect subsidiary of IMAS. The Indomobil Group is known as one of Indonesia’s largest automotive conglomerates.
Following this news, BNBR shares have risen 7.77% to Rp222 at Thursday’s close. Meanwhile, IMAS has increased by 19.23%.
Previously, Indomobil announced the signing of a strategic partnership and the establishment of a joint venture company aimed at enhancing innovation and accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles (EV) in Indonesia in 2024. This was done through PT IMG Sejahtera Langgeng.
One key point of this partnership is that both companies will focus on developing and improving electric vehicles for various needs, including passenger and commercial vehicles, through the establishment of that joint venture.
Nevertheless, the Indomobil Group will only highlight aspects of the partnership related to EV. This step is taken to ensure flexibility and broader expansion in future cooperation, which may include the passenger and commercial vehicle sectors. Additionally, this collaboration also represents a commitment from both companies to support the government in achieving the Net Zero Emissions target by 2060.
Not long ago, the cooperation between the Bakrie and Salim Groups emerged visibly at PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI). The company announced Anthoni Salim and Nirwan Dermawan Bakrie as the ultimate beneficial owners of share ownership.
In a disclosure of information, BUMI’s Corporate Secretary Irana Candra Mala revealed that the controlling share percentage now reaches 46.96%.
