Revealed: Income of Ojol Drivers Working 28 Trips a Day Can Reach This Much
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Becoming an online motorcycle taxi (ojol) driver is a reality for many people to meet their daily economic needs. A report provides an overview of the correlation between working hours and the number of orders taken with the income collected by ojol drivers in the field.
Grab Indonesia has provided an explanation regarding the average income of active driver partners on its platform. Based on company data, the figures earned by partners vary considerably, with some even reaching two-digit amounts.
For two-wheeled drivers with such income, they handle an average of 28 orders per day. The profiles of these partners are family heads, main breadwinners, former employees, or entrepreneurs.
Meanwhile, four-wheeled drivers average 11 orders per day. They are usually full-time professional drivers and family heads as the main source of livelihood.
Grab Indonesia drivers are not only those working for their primary income. There are also those who use it as supplementary income.
The number who use it as supplementary income is more than 80% for two-wheeled drivers and 67% for four-wheeled drivers.
Those in this group usually have main jobs and will drive after finishing work or to add to their income.
“There are many like that. So, if you look at it, this is the flexibility provided by Grab and fortunately by utilising technology,” explained Grab Indonesia CEO Neneng Goenadi recently.
