Revealed: 'Bang Jago' Wielding Machete Caused Chaos Twice in One Night in Bogor
Police have arrested an 18-year-old man, identified as IK, for carrying a machete and causing a disturbance at a herbal medicine stall in the Kamurang area, Citeureup District, Bogor Regency, West Java. It has since been revealed that the perpetrator committed the threatening acts twice in one night.
‘The threatening incident is known to have occurred on Monday (13/7) in the early hours at two different locations within a short time frame,’ said Citeureup Police Chief Kompol Eddy Santosa on Friday (17/7/2026).
The first incident took place on Monday (13/7) at around 00:35 WIB at a herbal medicine stall. The perpetrator threatened and intimidated the victim using the machete he was carrying.
Three hours later, IK again brandished the machete to threaten the keeper of a grocery stall in another sub-district within Citeureup.
‘It did not stop there. Based on the initial interrogation after the arrest, the youth admitted to carrying out a similar act at around 03:55 WIB at a grocery store located in Puspanegara Sub-district,’ he stated.
IK was arrested at his home in Puspanegara Village, Citeureup District, on Thursday (16/7) evening at around 18:15 WIB.
‘The Citeureup Police, together with the Bogor Resort Police Rapid Response Team, acted quickly to secure a teenager strongly suspected of making threats using a machete in a public place,’ said Kompol Eddy.
The perpetrator was arrested along with the evidence, a machete he used during the disturbances. Currently, the perpetrator and the evidence have been taken to the police station.
‘The suspect and the evidence of the sharp weapon have now been secured at the Citeureup Police Headquarters to undergo further legal proceedings for the alleged offence of carrying a sharp weapon without authorisation in a public place,’ he explained.
