Danantara Indonesia CEO and Minister of Investment and Downstreaming Rosan Roeslani has claimed that direct meetings with 122 global investors in the United States succeeded in restoring positive sentiment and international market confidence in Indonesia’s economic policies. The meetings with hundreds of foreign fund managers were specifically designed by the government. The move aimed to reverse negative global perceptions regarding the new administration’s economic policy direction.

“The correlation is actually very strong because we met approximately 122 investors and they are investors who also invest in the Indonesian capital market,” Rosan said at the Cabinet Meeting Room in the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, Monday (15/6/2026).

Rosan stated that international investors had previously doubted the government’s commitment to fiscal policy and the domestic investment climate. Therefore, the overseas working visit was also utilised to explain the function of the Danantara Investment Management Agency as a new institution playing a role in strengthening the national economy.

A positive response from the US financial market is claimed to be one of the main drivers of improved market sentiment. The impact is visible in the strengthening of the rupiah exchange rate and the stock index on the domestic exchange.

“When they saw that what was being done, in this case Danantara and its policies, was able to reverse the momentum that previously made them doubt the Indonesian economy and our policies,” Rosan said.

He conveyed that the process of restoring capital market confidence through direct explanation requires proof of the institution’s capacity and professionalism. Global investors reportedly posed various critical questions regarding Danantara’s governance and accountability before deciding to reinvest their capital.

“And the most important thing we see is that the credibility of our presentation about Danantara was well received by them. Indeed, the Q&A was intense. The Q&A was very intense,” Rosan said.

The success of this investment diplomacy is claimed to have ended the deepest phase of decline in the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) in early June 2026.
