Indonesia’s Foreign Minister, Sugiono, stated that President Prabowo Subianto plans to increase the number of K-pop concerts in Indonesia. This plan was discussed during President Prabowo Subianto’s working visit with the President of the Republic of Korea, Lee Jae Myung, some time ago.

“Yesterday, in a conversation, it was specifically mentioned for K-pop fans, K-poppers, that the President plans to increase the number of K-pop concerts for K-pop fans,” said Sugiono at the Presidential Staff Office in Central Jakarta on Wednesday, 22 April 2026.

On the other hand, Sugiono said that every overseas visit conducted by the government aims to produce concrete benefits for the people.

“This visit is one where we want to produce something that is directly felt by the Indonesian people from our relations with various countries in the world,” he explained.

He also revealed an interesting fact that there are Indonesian talents who have been involved in the K-pop music industry, including becoming part of bands in South Korea, although from a different generation.

It is known that the Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Airlangga Hartarto, reported that President Prabowo’s state visit to South Korea resulted in the signing of several memorandums of understanding (MoUs) between business actors from both countries, worth US$10.2 billion or approximately Rp173 trillion.

This was stated by Airlangga after attending the “Indonesia–Korea Partnership for Resilient Growth” forum in Seoul, South Korea, on Wednesday, 1 April 2026, together with the Minister of Investment and CEO of Danantara, Rosan Roeslani.

“In that meeting, MoUs worth 10.2 billion US dollars or approximately Rp173 trillion were signed,” said Airlangga in his statement on Thursday, 2 April 2026.

Airlangga explained that the cooperation covers various strategic sectors such as energy and green transition, including solar power, carbon capture and storage (CCS), and renewable energy.

In addition, the cooperation also includes the industrial and manufacturing sectors such as steel, batteries, and environmentally friendly transportation.

“The investments also include the digital and AI sector. Then property and infrastructure, including development in Bumi Serpong Damai, and business cooperation and associations between Kadin and KCCI, especially to encourage business commitments,” he said.
