Return traffic: Whoosh passengers from Bandung urged to utilise 'feeder'
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) has urged passengers on the Whoosh high-speed train from the Bandung area in West Java to utilise feeder trains to reach Padalarang Station. General Manager of Corporate Secretary at KCIC, Eva Chairunisa, confirmed from Jakarta on Sunday that these feeder services can help avoid delays given the high mobility during the Lebaran return period in 2026. “By using the integrated feeder service, the journey to the station becomes more scheduled and free from potential traffic congestion, allowing passengers to arrive on time before boarding closes,” she said. An increase in the number of passengers from Bandung, West Java, to Jakarta is predicted today due to the Lebaran holiday and the end of the work-from-anywhere (WFA) policy. According to Eva, the high mobility during the return period reflects the movement of people returning to Jakarta and its surroundings after their holidays. “Along with the high passenger volume during the return period, the public is urged to book tickets immediately to avoid running out, especially for popular afternoon and evening departure schedules from Bandung,” Eva stated. Additionally, passengers are advised to be punctual and arrive at least 30 minutes before departure, as boarding closes five minutes prior for safety and operational smoothness. Whoosh is Indonesia’s and Southeast Asia’s first high-speed train, operating at speeds of up to 350 kilometres per hour. The train serves the Jakarta-Bandung route with four main stations: Halim, Karawang, Padalarang, and Tegalluar Summarecon.
