Bekasi (ANTARA) - PT Jasamarga Jalanlayang Cikampek states that return traffic through the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Elevated Road (MBZ) section began to ease on H+7 of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah or Saturday (28/3), although vehicle movements towards the Capital remain substantial. “Return traffic throughout Saturday yesterday began to show a decline because many vehicles had already returned in the previous days,” said GM of Operations and Maintenance at PT Jasamarga Jalanlayang Cikampek, Desti Anggraeni, in Bekasi on Sunday. She stated that during the H+7 Lebaran period, 35,120 vehicles were observed heading towards Jakarta, an increase of 29.3% compared to normal traffic of 27,161 vehicles, indicating that return traffic is still ongoing although gradually decreasing. On the other hand, vehicles leaving Jakarta were recorded at 20,036, or a decrease of 33.76% compared to normal traffic of 30,247 vehicles. “This decline is an indication that vehicle movements out of Jakarta are starting to subside as the main mudik and return flow period ends,” she said. Desti noted that overall, traffic conditions on the MBZ Elevated Road section are smooth and under control, supported by continuous traffic monitoring and the readiness of operational personnel on the ground. Jasamarga continues to urge road users passing through the MBZ Elevated Road section to always prioritise safety by ensuring the driver’s and vehicle’s condition is optimal and maintaining sufficient battery power or fuel. No less important is anticipating potential weather changes, especially rain conditions that can affect visibility and road surface conditions, so that the journey can proceed safely and comfortably until reaching the destination. Road users can access the latest information or request toll road traffic services through the Jasa Marga Group’s 24-hour call centre at number 133, Twitter @PTJASAMARGA, and the Travoy 4.5 application for iOS and Android users.
