Return Traffic Surges on 30 March, Pelni Serves 27,000 Passengers per Day
PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia or PT Pelni (Persero) recorded a significant surge in passenger realisations today, Monday (30/3). The total passengers served today reached 27,296 people. This figure increased by 34.5% from the same period last year, which was only 20,304 passengers.
Pelni’s President Director Tri Andayani stated that up to 30 March 2026, the total return flow passengers for the period from 23 March to 6 April 2026 had reached 277,549 people.
“Today is one of the days with the highest passenger realisations during the Lebaran 2026 return period. We recorded total ticket sales for the entire Lebaran Transport period from 6 March to 6 April 2026 reaching 594,547 tickets, consisting of 541,144 passenger ship passengers and 53,403 feeder ship passengers,” said Andayani in her statement on Monday (30/3).
During the ongoing Lebaran Transport period, she said, Pelni’s ships achieved an average On Time Performance of 97%. The company continues to ensure all fleets and crew are ready to serve wholeheartedly and remain focused on always implementing safety first, zero accidents, and excellent service.
“Despite experiencing a significant surge, Pelni still pays attention to maritime safety and always coordinates with port authorities in monitoring maximum capacity on ships,” she emphasised. (H-2)
The Directorate of Traffic (Ditlantas) of the West Java Police reported a significant decrease in the number of traffic accidents during the Lebaran 2026 mudik and return period.
During the Lebaran 2026 return flow, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daop 1 Jakarta recorded 18,753 passengers arriving at Pasar Senen Station on Sunday afternoon (29/3).
The traffic volume returning to the Jabotabek area on H+7 of Eid al-Fitr 1447H/2026 or Saturday, 28 March 2026, reached 212,138 vehicles.
Pelni’s President Director Tri Andayani, or familiarly known as Anda, stated that as of 29 March 2026, ticket sales for the return period from 23 March to 6 April 2026 had reached 268,746 tickets.
Based on data from the Bakauheni Post during 24 hours on 28 March 2026 from 00.00 to 23.59 WIB, 111,589 passengers crossed from Sumatra to Java, down 11%.
During the operational period of the post from 13-30 March 2026, the total passengers served reached 766,175 people.
During the return period, namely the second Lebaran or 22 March to H+7 or 29 March, the average passengers reached 11,834 people per day.
During the return period from 23-29 March 2026, according to Luqman Arif of KAI Daop 4 Semarang, a total of 477,299 passengers have been served, and the number of passengers remains stably high.
Over 18 days of the Lebaran 2026 Transport period, Daop 4 Semarang served 1,093,135 passengers.
During the period from 11 to 28 March 2026, KAI has served 4,215,419 customers, consisting of 3,521,946 long-distance train customers and 693,473 local train customers.
