Return Traffic: Purwomartani Toll Gate Operating Hours Extended to 8:00 PM WIB

The operating hours of the Purwomartani Toll Gate have been extended by two hours to support the smooth flow of return traffic during the 2026 Lebaran holiday. The Purwomartani Toll Gate on the Yogyakarta-Solo toll road, Prambanan-Purwomartani segment, has been functionally open since 16 March until 29 March. Originally, the operating hours for this section and toll gate were from 06:00 WIB to 18:00 WIB. However, since Sunday (22/3), the operating hours have been extended until 20:00 WIB. “The Purwomartani Toll Gate will be open from 06:00-20:00 WIB from 22-29 March,” said the Director of Traffic of the DIY Police, Kombes Pol Arie Prasetya Syafa’at, on Monday (23/3) night. Arie explained that the operating duration of the Purwomartani Toll Gate has been increased to ease traffic density towards Klaten or Central Java. “Inbound and outbound traffic to DIY is increasing. To reduce density towards Klaten,” said Arie. According to Arie, traffic flow entering and leaving the DIY region has shown an increasing trend this week. The number of vehicles passing through the functional Yogya-Solo Toll via the Purwomartani Toll Gate is nearly reaching 1,500 per hour. “The increase (in traffic flow) is quite significant,” said Arie. Based on data from the DIY Smart Province Back Office, traffic flow at the Purwomartani Toll Gate on 23 March yesterday reached more than 1,000 vehicles per hour from 08:00-09:00 WIB. The number of vehicles steadily increased, peaking at 1,555 vehicles per hour during the 17:00-18:00 WIB period. The figure only decreased afterwards. Cumulatively, from 06:00 WIB to 20:00 WIB, 17,357 vehicles passed through the Purwomartani Toll Gate. Meanwhile, based on observations today, Tuesday (24/3), the Purwomartani Toll Gate has been crowded with vehicles since this morning. Five toll booth gates were opened until approaching noon today.
