Return Traffic on Cipali Toll Road to Jakarta Surges Since This Morning
Vehicle traffic crossing the Cikopo-Palimanan (Cipali) toll road section in West Java towards Jakarta experienced a significant surge on H+3 of Eid al-Fitr, or Tuesday morning. The one-way traffic flow towards Jakarta was monitored as busy but smooth.
Sustainability Management & Corporate Communications Department Head of Astra Tol Cipali, Ardam Rafif Trisilo, stated that based on data for Tuesday (24/3) from 00:00 WIB to 09:00 WIB, around 36,000 vehicles had crossed the Cipali toll road towards Jakarta.
“The number of vehicles passing towards Jakarta is 167 percent higher compared to the same period the previous day,” said Ardam, quoted by Antara on Tuesday (24/3/2026).
Meanwhile, cumulatively in both directions (towards Jakarta and towards Cirebon), the total traffic volume on the Cipali toll road section was 36 percent higher than the same period yesterday.
In line with the vehicle surge, Astra Tol Cipali advises road users to always prioritise safety, maintain safe distances between vehicles, and comply with instructions from on-site officers during the traffic management implementation period.
They remind road users not to change lanes during one-way operations except in emergency conditions.
“Changing lanes during one-way is very dangerous. We also advise against stopping on the roadside except in emergency conditions,” said Ardam.
Road users are advised to rest at the nearest rest area or utilise rest stops outside the nearest toll gate if parking capacity is full, with the assurance of the same toll fare (accumulated per kilometre).
On the Cipali toll road, there are several rest areas, namely at KM 86, KM 102, KM 130A, and KM 166 towards Cirebon. Then rest areas at KM 164, KM 130B, KM 101, and functional rest area at KM 77 towards Jakarta.
