Return Traffic on Cipali Toll Road Busier on Monday Night, Drivers Urged to Rest if Drowsy

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, CIREBON – Return traffic of vehicles heading to Jakarta passing through the Cipali Toll Road section experienced a significant increase on Monday (23/3/2026) night. Traffic engineering in the form of one-way operation, which started at 17.08 WIB, is still being implemented. Sustainability Management & Corporate Communications Dept Head of Astra Tol Cipali, Ardam Rafif Trisilo, explained that on Monday (23/3/2026) from 00.00 to 21.00 WIB, traffic flow towards Jakarta was monitored to have increased significantly with busy but smooth conditions. “It was recorded that around 56,000 vehicles have passed through Cikopo towards Jakarta, 92 percent higher compared to the same period yesterday,” said Ardam. He added that the total traffic volume on the Cipali Toll Road section overall until tonight is about one percent lower compared to the same period yesterday. Ardam stated that to maintain smooth traffic flow and collective safety, Astra Tol Cipali urges all road users not to stop on the roadside, except in emergency conditions. Road users are advised to rest at the nearest rest area or can utilise rest facilities outside the nearest toll gate if parking capacity is full, with the assurance of the same toll fare (accumulated per kilometre). “We also urge all road users to ensure the condition of their vehicles and the physical state of the drivers are in prime condition, and strongly advise against forcing oneself to drive if feeling tired or drowsy,” he said.
