Return Traffic on Banyumanik Semarang Toll Road Reaches 2,000 Vehicles per Hour

Semarang (ANTARA) - Vehicle traffic of returnees heading west or towards Jakarta passing through Semarang City via the Banyumanik Toll Gate, Semarang, on Monday, averaged around 2,000 vehicles per hour. Marketing Communication Officer of PT Trans Marga Jateng (TMJ) Dian Saputra, in Semarang on Monday, stated that 23,127 vehicles were recorded entering through the Semarang-Solo Toll Road. The recorded return traffic passed between 06:00 and 16:00 WIB, or over 10 hours. The movement varied each hour but ranged from 2,000 to 2,500 vehicles, and had not yet reached 3,000 vehicles. So far, he said, the vehicle flow was monitored as smooth, and he predicted that the peak of the 2026 Eid return traffic would occur on Tuesday (24/3) tomorrow. Vehicles of returnees passing through the Semarang-Solo Toll Road westward were observed to be dominated by plates from around Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek). However, vehicles with police plates from East Java areas, such as L (Surabaya), W (Sidoarjo), and N (Malang), were still occasionally encountered. As night fell, vehicle density became more apparent at the Banyumanik GT, causing drivers to reduce their speed.
