JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi, alongside the Head of the National Traffic Corps of the Indonesian National Police, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, has implemented a one-way traffic engineering scheme from KM 132 to KM 70 on the Trans-Java Toll Road on Friday (27/3/2026).

This measure aims to ease traffic density at several points following the increased volume of vehicles heading towards the Jakarta region.

“The current on-site traffic conditions are actually in line with predictions and not excessively high,” the Transport Minister stated at the Command Centre KM 29 of the National Traffic Corps Police Toll Cikampek, Bekasi Regency, West Java, in an official statement.

Dudy revealed that his side would continue to monitor the traffic situation consistently following the implementation of the first stage of the one-way scheme.

Should there be an increase in vehicle volume during the process, at the discretion of the Police, the second stage of local one-way from KM 169 to KM 70 and the third stage from KM 188 to KM 70 would be enforced.

“Likewise, if there is still a significant increase in traffic flow, it is not impossible that the national one-way from the Kalikangkung Toll Road will be implemented,” the Transport Minister said.

Dudy advised the public to plan their return journeys carefully, including by utilising the Travoy application or the Jasa Marga Call Centre.

According to him, this is important so that the public can know the timing and routes of the dynamic traffic engineering schemes enforced by the Police, as well as various information such as rest areas and other travel support facilities.

Dudy also reiterated his reminder to logistics transport business operators to comply with the Joint Decree on Traffic Regulation and Crossing during the 2026 Eid Transportation, signed by the Ministry of Transportation, the National Police, and the Ministry of Public Works.

“I once again request that logistics transport business operators refrain from operating three-axle and above vehicles until the specified time, namely 29 March 2026. Once again, this is to ensure the safety of the travellers,” he stated.

Dudy also conveyed that based on data from the National Traffic Corps Police, the fatality rate of accident victims during the Eid mudik and return flows in 2026 has decreased by 30.4 percent compared to last year.

Accident incidents during Operation Ketupat have also decreased by 5.3 percent.

For information, according to Jasa Marga data, the number of vehicles entering the Jakarta region up to 6 a.m. today has reached 2.3 million units or 69 percent of the total projection.

Meanwhile, the traffic volume returning to the Jabotabek region on H+4 Eid has reached 206,243 vehicles.
