Palembang – Inspector General Sandi Nugroho, the Chief of the South Sumatra Regional Police, conducted a direct inspection of the Kapal Betung toll road on Tuesday, 10 March 2026. The inspection was undertaken to ensure the readiness of security arrangements for the Eid homebound and return traffic flow as part of Operation Ketupat 2026. The activity was also attended by South Sumatra Governor Herman Deru alongside several officials from relevant agencies.

Nugroho explained that the inspection was carried out to ensure the readiness of road infrastructure, the condition of routes, and supporting facilities. These include rest areas and a number of strategic points with potential to become congestion centres during the homebound period.

“This inspection is part of our preparedness measures in facing the Eid homebound traffic flow through Operation Ketupat 2026. We want to ensure that all routes used by the public are in safe, fit, and usable condition,” said Nugroho.

During the inspection, the South Sumatra Police Chief and his delegation conducted a direct survey of the toll road’s condition, which serves as one of the primary access routes for homebound traffic in the South Sumatra region.

The inspection was conducted from Talang Kelapa–Musi Landas–Rest Area–Musi V Bridge–Kramasan–to Kayu Agung. He also stressed the importance of synergy between the National Police, the Military, the Regional Government, and related agencies to support smooth traffic flow during the homebound period.

“Through good coordination and cooperation between agencies, we hope that this year’s homebound security operations can run optimally, so that the public can travel safely, smoothly, and comfortably,” he said.

Through this inspection, it is hoped that all parties can take maximum anticipatory measures so that Operation Ketupat 2026 in the South Sumatra region can run safely, orderly, and smoothly, and provide comfort to the public undertaking their Eid homebound journey.
