Return Flow: Three-Axle Trucks Still Banned from Passing Until 29 March
The Head of the Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) of the Indonesian National Police, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, has emphasised that the ban and operational restrictions for three-axle or larger trucks during the Lebaran return flow period remain in place. Agus stated that, in accordance with the Joint Decree (SKB) on the Regulation of Lebaran Transport and Crossing, the operational restrictions for three-axle trucks apply from 13 March to 29 March 2026. Therefore, he urged logistics entrepreneurs to continue complying with the SKB regulations, even though the peak return flow is predicted to have passed on Tuesday (24/3) last. “This SKB regulates restrictions on three-axle vehicles. So we also urge logistics entrepreneurs, especially those with three-axle trucks, to comply with the SKB,” he told reporters, quoted on Wednesday (25/3). Agus said that during the outbound flow period yesterday, officers still found three-axle trucks operating in the field. Thus, mitigation steps were taken by halting the operations of those trucks. “Many have been removed from the toll roads and even stopped; of course, we must prioritise our fellow travellers,” he explained. Agus hopes that the operational ban on three-axle trucks will be taken seriously, as the volume of vehicles during the return flow is predicted to be higher than during the outbound flow. “That’s why we’ll see if the traffic count reaches that level. That’s why we’re anticipating it,” he said.
