Return flow of train passengers for Prophet Muhammad's Birthday holiday begins today
PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta has recorded the return flow of passengers during the long holiday for Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday, beginning today, with a total of 30,667 passengers arriving at various stations in the Daop 1 Jakarta area.
Meanwhile, tomorrow, Tuesday (25/8), the number of passengers due to arrive is recorded at 34,997, making it the highest arrival volume during the 21–25 August 2026 long holiday period.
“After the peak departure occurred on Saturday (22/8) with 38,842 passengers, movement is now dominated by passengers returning to the Daop 1 Jakarta area,” said KAI Daop 1 Jakarta Public Relations Manager Franoto Wibowo in an official statement in Jakarta on Monday.
He said the largest arrival volume today was recorded at Pasar Senen Station with 11,134 passengers, followed by Gambir Station with 9,430 passengers.
Furthermore, 3,919 passengers were recorded arriving at Bekasi Station, 3,891 passengers at Jatinegara Station, 1,110 passengers at Cikarang Station, 653 passengers at Karawang Station, and 530 passengers at Cikampek Station.
Cumulatively during the 21–25 August 2026 period, based on data up to today at 08.00 WIB, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta recorded 144,998 departing passengers and 150,078 arriving passengers.
“Thus, during the long holiday period for Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday, there were almost 295,000 passenger movements departing from and arriving in the Daop 1 Jakarta area,” said Franoto.
KAI Daop 1 Jakarta provided a total of 196,870 seats during the 21–25 August 2026 period. A number of cities that were popular destinations for customers included Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Semarang, Purwokerto, Bandung, and Jember.
“We encourage customers to arrive at the station earlier, particularly during periods of high travel volume, so that all pre-departure processes can be carried out more comfortably and journeys run smoothly,” he said.
