As the peak of the Lebaran return flow is underway, traffic conditions on the Eastern Trans route (Jalintim) in Musi Banyuasin, South Sumatra, are monitored as safe and smooth. Numerous vehicles, both from Palembang heading to Jambi or vice versa, are beginning to move back to their origins via the trans route or functional toll roads.

To anticipate the return route on Jalintim, the current personnel strength is approximately 200 individuals, comprising members from Polres Muba, TNI, Pol PP, Dishub, and Damkar.

“We are ready to secure the return flow along Jalintim by deploying personnel at congestion-prone points that we have inventoried—there are 14 such points. Additionally, there are 3 accident-prone points and 15 parking bays,” stated the Chief of Polres Muba, AKBP Ruri Prastowo, on Tuesday, 24 March 2026.

Several vehicles with out-of-province plates are also visible passing through various points, from Sungai Lilin Tungkal Jaya to Bayung Lencir. Moreover, conditions on the Central Trans route (Jalinteng) are already appearing busy in areas such as Lais and Sekayu.

Although many two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles are traversing the routes, traffic flow remains safe and smooth, with no vehicle build-ups observed on either of Sumatra’s trans routes. In addition, heavy equipment has been provided and placed at several accident-prone points.

“The peak return flow is estimated to occur on 24, 28, and 29 March 2026. We urge the public travelling via Jalintim to plan their journeys meticulously and continuously monitor the latest information regarding Jalintim. If fatigued, please rest immediately at the Pospam posts that have been provided at several points,” he explained.

Furthermore, authorities are advising drivers to switch to the alternative Jailinteng route if vehicle build-ups occur.

“The alternative route from Palembang to Jambi passes through Betung, Sekayu, Musi Rawas, and Jambi. Conversely, from Jambi to Palembang, it can go via Sorolangun, Lubuk Linggau, Musi Rawas, Sekayu-Betung, or Lahat-Prabumulih,” he clarified.

He continued that homecomers will be diverted to the Central Trans route if Jalintim experiences heavy traffic density.
