Return Flow: Japek II South Functional Route Opened Toll-Free
As an effort to alleviate traffic density during the 2026 Lebaran return flow from the Cipularang Toll Road towards Jakarta, PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk has officially operated the functional lane on the Jakarta-Cikampek II South Toll Road segment from Sadang to Setu, under police discretion. The 52-kilometre functional lane was officially opened on Tuesday (24/3/2026) at 09.00 WIB. Road users from the Bandung direction can utilise it via the Sadang Km 76 access on the Cipularang Toll Road towards Jakarta. Jasa Marga’s President Director, Rivan A. Purwantono, explained that the functional lane had been opened since 19 March 2026 from 09.55 to 16.00 WIB as an effort to ease density at the traffic convergence point from Bandung and Trans-Java at Km 66 on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road towards Jakarta. “We ensure that aspects of safety and comfort for toll road users are maintained while traversing the functional lane on the Jakarta-Cikampek II South Toll Road,” he said on Tuesday (24/3/2026). Rivan stated that they have equipped the lane with fencing, adequate lighting facilities, and the placement of operational service personnel such as Mobile Customer Service (MCS), tow trucks, ambulances, and rescue teams to assist road users in emergencies. In addition, guide signs are available, installed at 1 km, 500 m, 200 m distances, and at intersections before the toll road entry access. Similarly, warning signs for road users intending to use the functional lane. During the operational period, road users traversing Japek II South are not charged toll fees. Users only pay the Cipularang Toll Road fare up to the Sadang access as per applicable regulations. “We remind once again that this functional lane is toll-free. The fare paid by road users at the Kutanegara GT or temporary GT is not the functional lane fare, but rather the fare for the journey on the Cipularang Toll Road up to the Sadang access,” said Rivan. Furthermore, the public traversing is urged to increase vigilance while driving on the functional lane, not to exceed 60 km/h speed, maintain safe distances between vehicles, obey traffic signs, and follow directions from on-site officers.
