In the midst of increased mobility following Eid al-Fitr, PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) has recorded a return flow on the Ketapang–Gilimanuk route during the return period of 22–25 March 2026, with 47,945 vehicles returning to Bali. This figure equates to 29% of the total vehicles that previously crossed to Java. “Vehicles returning from Java to Bali are increasing gradually, so ferry services continue to run smoothly without significant congestion,” said Deputy Director Yossianis Marciano in an official statement on Thursday (26/3/2026). This number confirms that the return flow is occurring in stages, providing room for the service system to operate optimally without excessive pressure. Yossianis stated that this situation is inseparable from the operational readiness strengthened since the beginning of the Eid transportation period. The non-concentrated distribution of vehicles at one time is key to maintaining smoothness at the port. Yossianis urged Eid returnees to avoid travelling during the second return peak, estimated to occur on 28–29 March 2026. This step is important to reduce the potential for congestion in the Ketapang–Gilimanuk port area. Meanwhile, the General Manager of the Ketapang Branch of ASDP, Arief Eko, explained that vehicle entry to the port is managed disciplinedly with the support of buffer zones and strengthened traffic management. This appeal aligns with the Directorate General of Sea Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation, which also encourages the public, especially in East Java and surrounding areas, to wisely determine travel times. On the other hand, service performance at Ketapang also shows a positive trend. Based on data from the Command Post on 25 March 2026 (H+3), 223 ship trips served the Java–Bali route.
