The restoration project for the lobby of the Buleleng Regent’s Office has begun. The reorganisation of the heritage-concept building is budgeted at Rp 2 billion.

Head of the Buleleng Public Works, Housing, and Spatial Planning Department (Dinas PUPR Perkim), Putu Adipta Eka Putra, revealed that the restoration process is targeted to be completed within three months. Adipta stated that the work is also synergised with the ongoing reorganisation of the Singaraja Titik Nol area.

“The concept is not large-scale construction, but restoration. The focus is on minor repairs without changing the main structure of the building,” said Adipta on Thursday (30/4/2026).

Adipta explained that several parts of the building will be improved. This includes adjustments to the canopy in the front area, reorganisation of the asphalt surface, and the addition of disability-friendly facilities. Furthermore, the pond in front of the office will be widened to address the limited space during assembly activities.

“So far, the manoeuvring space during assemblies has felt cramped. With these adjustments, activities are expected to be more spacious,” he added.

Adipta described that the restoration design refers to old documentation from when Buleleng was still the capital of the Sunda Kecil Province. This approach is taken to restore the building’s original character without eliminating its historical value.

“The design is returned to its initial form based on archives. There are no major changes, only reorganisation to make it more representative and still characteristic,” he concluded.
