Restaurant Employee Arrested at Ngurah Rai Airport for Allegedly Embezzling Company Funds
A restaurant employee was arrested by police at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport on Friday (10/6) while attempting to flee to Jakarta after allegedly embezzling company funds. The suspect, identified as SF (20), was apprehended by the Jalak Nusa team from the Nusa Penida Police following a report from the restaurant owner in Nusa Lembongan, Klungkung, Bali.
Police also seized several items as evidence, including an iPhone 13 Pro Max and a flight ticket to Jakarta, which are believed to have been purchased using the embezzled money. The case came to light after the owner of the Pondok Baruna restaurant discovered that over IDR 33 million in sales revenue was missing.
Nusa Penida Police Chief Kompol I Ketut Kesuma Jaya stated that after receiving the report, his team conducted a series of investigations, including witness interviews and evidence gathering, which led them to the suspect’s location at the airport. The suspect is currently detained at the Nusa Penida Police station for further questioning. Kesuma also urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity through the 110 call centre or the nearest police station.
