Jakarta – Rest Area KM 57 on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road has provided two public electric vehicle charging units (SPKLU) for homebound motorists driving electric vehicles.

The two SPKLU units are located close to the petrol station (SPBU), just inside the rest area entrance. Each SPKLU is equipped with three electric pumps for vehicle charging. By 10 PM, electric vehicles had formed quite lengthy queues to charge their vehicles. Officers had to manage the queue to avoid disrupting the mobility of other vehicles.

Hundreds of homebound travellers filled Rest Area KM 57 on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road in Karawang, West Java on Saturday evening. According to ANTARA’s observation at the location at 6:30 PM, vehicles from homebound travellers continued to arrive from the direction of Jakarta.

Most homebound travellers arrived as families. Although there are many eating establishments at the rest area, many travellers chose to break their fast in the car park. Some spread out mats to sit on, whilst others sat without mats near their vehicles.

After breaking their fast, the travellers crowded into the At-Taubah Mosque to perform the Isha prayer. Others could be seen moving about the rest area whilst waiting for the right time to continue their journey.
