Rest Area at Km 57 of Japek Toll Implements Open-Close Policy
The rest area at Km 57 of the Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) toll road has implemented an open-close system. This is to prevent the accumulation of holiday return vehicles at the location. Jasa Marga announced this at 13:02 WIB through its official X account. It was stated that the area subject to open-close is the Rest Area Karawang Timur Km 57 towards Cikampek. “13:02 WIB #Tol_Japek Rest Area Karawang Timur KM 57 towards Cikampek IMPLEMENTING OPEN-CLOSE,” wrote Jasa Marga’s X account on Wednesday (18/3/2026). The implementation of the open-close at rest area Km 57 towards Cikampek is situational. Drivers are urged to use the next rest area. “Situational. Use the next Rest Area,” wrote Jasa Marga. Previously reported, traffic density occurred on the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed (MBZ) toll elevated road. Police stated that the density is usually due to problematic vehicles. “Usually there are vehicles in trouble. Yesterday, one ran out of oil completely, we assisted too. This causes slowdowns,” said the Head of the Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) Polri Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho after the release of the free Eid return programme by the Precision Polri 2026 at Polda Metro Jaya this morning. In addition, slowdowns are due to minor accidents to tired drivers stopping on the road shoulder. Thus, the traffic flow slowdown is temporary and continues to be handled by officers.
