Response to Social Media Issue: DKI Provincial Government Ensures Official Vehicle Policy Complies with Regulations
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, through the Regional Asset Management Agency (BPAD), has emphasised the strict implementation of rules regarding the use of operational official vehicles (KDO) across all regional apparatus during the Eid holiday period.
This measure was taken in response to information circulating on social media regarding allegations of official vehicles with B plates being present in the mudik traffic flow.
According to the Head of BPAD DKI Jakarta, Faisal Syafruddin, his office conducted a search through the official vehicle administration system on Wednesday (25/3/2026).
Based on checks via the e-KDO application, the vehicle matching the reported description was confirmed not to belong to the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.
“Regarding the report, the vehicle in question does not belong to the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, but to another institution. The policy on the use of official vehicles is the authority of each respective institution,” he stated in a release on Thursday (26/3/2026).
The Inspector of DKI Jakarta Province, Dhany Sukma, emphasised that his office will take firm action if any violations of official vehicle use by apparatus within the DKI Provincial Government environment are found during the Eid holiday period.
He revealed that supervision is carried out through mechanisms of summoning and clarification of related parties based on received reports, including tracing vehicle licence plate numbers by the internal team. “If a violation is proven, sanctions will be imposed in accordance with applicable provisions,” he stressed.
The sanctions are based on the Governor of DKI Jakarta Regulation Number 8 of 2024 on Civil Servant Discipline, as well as Governor Regulation Number 27 of 2022 on Amendments to Governor Regulation Number 119 of 2020 on the Management of Official Vehicles.
Forms of sanctions may include moral reprimands up to deductions in additional employee income (TPP).
In addition, other legal bases include Government Regulation Number 94 of 2021 on Civil Servant Discipline and National Civil Service Agency Regulation Number 6 of 2022 on the Implementation of Government Regulation Number 94 of 2021.
Previously, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government audited all regional apparatus to ensure that official vehicles were garaged during the Eid holiday and located at designated sites.
