Response from NTB Attorney General's Office and Dompu District Prosecutor's Office on Allegations of Three Prosecutors Extorting Sub-District Head

The High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati) of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) and the Dompu District Prosecutor’s Office (Kejari) have responded to allegations that three prosecutors extorted Pajo Sub-District Head Imran. He is a convict in an assault case against residents who has just been executed to be detained at the Class IIB Dompu Penitentiary (Lapas). Imran claimed he was extorted by three prosecutors for Rp 30 million, with the pretext of lightening his punishment burden. Imran himself was dealing with prosecutors over the assault case. NTB Chief Prosecutor Wahyudi stated that the extortion allegation against Imran is not necessarily true and is only a one-sided claim. “That’s just their (Imran’s) claim. Things like this need clarification,” said Wahyudi, when interviewed by detikBali on Wednesday (1/4/2026). The three prosecutors allegedly involved in the extortion are Intelligence Section Head with initials J, General Criminal Section Head with initials K, and former Special Criminal Section Head with initials IS. All three rogue prosecutors have now been transferred. They are suspected of extorting Imran while serving at the Dompu District Prosecutor’s Office. Currently, no party has been asked for clarification. No official report has entered the NTB High Prosecutor’s Office either. “Not yet, we need to examine this first; there are SOPs and stages. If it’s true, we’ll handle it,” he said. “We’ll examine it first and so on. Whatever happens next, there are stages,” Wahyudi added. Dompu District Prosecutor’s Office Suggests Imran Report It The Dompu District Prosecutor’s Office suggested that Pajo Sub-District Head Imran report the three prosecutors who extorted Rp 30 million from him under the pretext of lightening his punishment. Imran was dealing with prosecutors as a convict in an assault case. Head of the Intelligence Section (Kasi Intel) at the Dompu District Prosecutor’s Office, Dany Curia Novitawan, revealed that reporting rogue prosecutors can be done through the Oversight Division of the NTB High Prosecutor’s Office. “Please go ahead and report it; we don’t close the door to anyone. Please bring the evidence to the High Prosecutor’s Office to report to the Oversight Section,” said Dany on Tuesday (31/3/2026). Dany said he had suggested that Imran report the rogue prosecutors who asked him for money. The suggestion was conveyed by Dany through Imran’s family and legal advisor. The Dompu District Prosecutor’s Office, continued Dany, is only waiting for the legal steps taken by the aggrieved party over the rogue prosecutors’ actions. If reported, Dany assured that the prosecutors would definitely be examined and sanctioned if proven guilty. “We at the Dompu District Prosecutor’s Office are only waiting for the extorted party in this case, Pajo Sub-District Head as the convict. Because that’s their right. Once reported, they will definitely be examined by the Oversight Division of the High Prosecutor’s Office,” said Dany. Pajo Sub-District Head’s Admission Previously, Pajo Sub-District Head Imran admitted to being extorted by three prosecutors at the Dompu District Prosecutor’s Office. This admission was made by Imran when he was executed to the Class IIB Dompu Penitentiary by prosecutors on Monday afternoon (30/3/2026). Imran is a convict in an assault case against residents. Imran revealed that in the legal process of the assault case against residents handled by the Dompu District Prosecutor’s Office, he was asked for Rp 30 million by IS. The money was handed directly to IS, K, and J at the Dompu District Prosecutor’s Office. “I had no initiative to give money to the prosecutor’s office, but Mrs IS called us to hand over Rp 30 million in this room,” Imran revealed just before being executed to Dompu Penitentiary.
