Responding to Rismon's Denial on AI Video, Jusuf Kalla: But He Does Not Deny the Content of the Accusations
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Indonesia’s 10th and 12th Vice President, Jusuf Kalla or JK, has responded to Rismon Sianipar’s denial concerning the accusation that he funded Roy Suryo to pursue the case regarding the diploma of Indonesia’s 7th President, Joko Widodo.
“Wah, I don’t know about that. But whatever the denial, he only says it’s not him who did it, but he does not deny the content,” Jusuf Kalla stated firmly after reporting to the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) on Wednesday (8/4/2026).
According to JK, Rismon’s denial is limited to disputing his involvement in creating the circulating video.
JK emphasised that Rismon has not firmly denied the statements related to the accusations against him.
“He doesn’t deny that I paid Rp 5 billion. If he denied that it wasn’t true, that Mr JK gave Rp 5 billion, gave money, there might be some benefit,” he said.
“But if he says it’s AI, that means nothing to me,” he continued.
It was previously reported that Rismon Sianipar’s legal representative, Jahmada Girsang, denied the accusation.
Jahmada clarified that the video circulating on social media is entirely an artificial intelligence (AI) product.
“It’s all AI-generated. Rismon never mentioned Mr JK’s name,” he explained.
Jusuf Kalla has also reported Rismon to the police.
The report was received by Bareskrim Polri under receipt number STTL/135/V/2026/BARESKRIM, on Wednesday (8/4/2026).
“Oh yes, as you know, I came to file a police report. It turns out the process is quite lengthy,” said Jusuf Kalla after submitting the report.
Jusuf Kalla reported allegations of defamation and slander related to claims that he funded the controversy over the diploma of Indonesia’s 7th President, Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
“Because it says I funded friends to question Mr Jokowi’s diploma,” he continued.
He stressed that the accusation is untrue and unfounded.
“And clearly, I did not do that,” he asserted.
