Responding to Pramono's Hopes, Prabowo Issues Direct Order to Danantara

President Prabowo Subianto has responded to a request from the Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung, regarding assistance for the development of the Jakarta LRT. Prabowo immediately ordered the Danantara Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara) to assist the Jakarta Provincial Government.

This was revealed by Prabowo during the inauguration of the Jakarta LRT Kelapa Gading - Manggarai route at Manggarai LRT Station on Wednesday (16/09/2026).

“There was a small hope expressed by the Governor (Pramono Anung) for Danantara to assist. I believe Danantara is obliged to help,” said Prabowo.

He stated that Jakarta belongs to all the people of Indonesia. He also spoke regarding plans to convene members of the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) and Governors from across Indonesia in the near future to launch the ‘ASRI’ (Safe, Healthy, Clean, Beautiful) urban arrangement programme.

“Jakarta must become a green city, a garden city. All large buildings, if possible, should feature vertical gardens as an initiative from building owners; if they face difficulties and the local government deems assistance necessary, the central government will step in,” said Prabowo.

Previously, during his speech, Pramono expressed his desire for Danantara to participate in the development of the Jakarta LRT.

“It would be even more gratifying if the President were to task Danantara to assist us,” said Pramono.

He explained that the development of the Jakarta LRT has not ceased at the Kelapa Gading - Manggarai route, but includes plans for lines extending to the Jakarta International Stadium, Velodrome, and Halim, which connects to the Whoosh high-speed rail.
