The Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (Danantara) has stated that it respects the resignation request of Daud Joseph from his position as President Director of PT Pos Indonesia. Accordingly, Danantara will immediately prepare a new leadership to continue the restructuring agenda of the state-owned logistics company. “We respect the decision and will immediately prepare a new leadership to continue the restructuring agenda (of PT Pos Indonesia),” said Danantara Managing Director for Stakeholders Management and Communications, Rohan Hafas, in an official statement in Jakarta on Friday. Over the past three months, Danantara assigned Daud Joseph to lead the overhaul process of PT Pos Indonesia through a thorough due diligence of the company’s financial, operational, governance, and organisational conditions. Based on the assessment results, Rohan revealed that the individual concerned conveyed that PT Pos Indonesia requires a comprehensive and fundamental revamp. “According to him (Daud Joseph), the complexity of the problems faced and the future restructuring agenda require more specific expertise to lead the next transformation phase,” Rohan stated. PT Pos Indonesia is currently in a comprehensive overhaul phase. Rohan disclosed that the ongoing due diligence and evaluation process has uncovered various financial and governance issues that have accumulated over many years. “We have also received reports and found indications of various irregularities, including alleged financial engineering, which are currently being followed up through audit and investigation mechanisms in accordance with applicable regulations,” Rohan said. Along with this, he assured that the issues burdening the company will be resolved one by one, ensuring there will be no room for practices that damage corporate governance. Furthermore, he stated that all findings will be followed up professionally, transparently, and in accordance with legal processes. “Our priority is to ensure PT Pos Indonesia returns to being a healthy, professional, accountable, and high-integrity company, so it can optimally carry out its mandate for the public,” Rohan said. Meanwhile, PT Pos Indonesia guarantees that the company’s operations remain smooth amid the resignation of its president director, in the midst of the ongoing corporate restructuring agenda. PT Pos Indonesia Corporate Secretary Iwan Gunawan said the official resignation letter was submitted on Thursday (2/7), based on the individual’s personal wishes and considerations. Although this resignation appears sudden, Iwan assured there is no disruption to public service aspects or the company’s business performance on the ground. “PT Pos Indonesia respects the decision and expresses the highest appreciation and gratitude for the dedication, service, and contributions provided while leading the company,” Iwan said.
