Residents Visit Anies Baswedan's Open House, Posing for Selfies and Receiving Gifts

JAKARTA - Residents arrived at the home of former DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan for the Eid open house in 2026 at Pendopo Anies Baswedan, Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta, on Friday (21/3/2026). From 3.30pm WIB, residents took turns queuing in the front yard of the residence to meet Anies directly. Some came alone, while others brought their families. The couple appeared in matching turquoise Eid attire, greeting the attending residents one by one with handshakes. Many residents seized the moment to take selfies with Anies and Fery. Some also brought gifts to present directly. One of them was Olivia, an 18-year-old woman, who brought a portrait of Anies’s face as a gift. Anies even signed the painting. “I deliberately prepared this for Mr Anies. I made this drawing a week ago,” said Olivia when met by Kompas.com on Saturday night. After shaking hands, the attending guests received blue gift parcels containing food items such as bread and cakes.
