Residents Urge Central Java Provincial Government to Completely Repair Randublatung-Cepu Road

Residents of Randublatung District, Blora Regency, Central Java, are urging the Central Java Provincial Government to immediately carry out total repairs on the Randublatung-Cepu road, which has suffered severe damage. They believe the deterioration of this road section has become critical and is disrupting the mobility of local citizens.

Novia Fatmawati, a resident of Randublatung, noted that while the total length of the Randublatung-Cepu road is approximately 27 kilometres, about 6 to 7 kilometres of it is in a state of total collapse, with the asphalt completely destroyed. She added that the road has been in this condition for over five years, noting that the damage predates the administration of former Governor Ganjar Pranowo.

According to Novia, although there was a repair project on the Randublatung-Cepu road last year, only one or two specific points were addressed. Residents have frequently voiced their grievances regarding the road conditions through social media and via the ‘LaporGub’ channel managed by the Central Java Provincial Government.

‘Our aspirations are frequently expressed, but they have yet to be addressed. The regency government has stated that this is a provincial road, so the authority for repairs does not lie with the regency,’ Novia explained.

She expressed the hope that the repair project for the Randublatung-Cepu road would not be conducted piecemeal. ‘Our hope is that it should be repaired entirely. If repairs are done in stages, it leads to prolonged road closures; it would be better to do it all at once,’ she said.

Novia noted that while alternative routes via regency roads are available, they require residents to take much longer detours compared to the primary Randublatung-Cepu access route.
