Residents Outside Jakarta Can Join the 2026 Free Homecoming Program, See Requirements and Schedule!
Good news for those planning to return to their hometowns this year. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has confirmed that residents with non-DKI ID cards can still participate in the 2026 Free Homecoming program, which registration has been open since February 22nd.
Although Jakarta residents are the main priority, the Jakarta Transportation Department will still open the door for residents from other regions as long as there are available quotas.
“DKI ID card holders are prioritized. However, we are not ruling out the possibility of serving residents who have non-DKI ID cards,” said the Head of the Road Transportation Division of the Jakarta Transportation Department, Emanuel Kristanto, quoted from Antara, Wednesday (25/2).
For those interested, registration is done entirely online through the official website mudikgratis.jakarta.go.id. Prospective travelers only need to attach a photo or scan of their ID card and Family Card (KK). It should be noted that only a maximum of four participants are allowed to register per KK.

This year, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is increasing the number of vehicles significantly to accommodate the enthusiasm of citizens. A total of 366 buses are provided for the homecoming trip (up from 293 buses last year). Meanwhile, for the return trip, 295 buses are available from 20 cities of origin with a total quota of 11,800 passengers.
This program is expected to provide safe and comfortable transportation for residents, as well as help reduce traffic congestion during the Eid al-Fitr period.
